Unique vintage shell cameo brooch. This ornate brooch is made by Geno, and has a large carved shell cameo set in an ornate gold plated setting. It appears that someone painted the back of the shell, which I’ve never seen in a genuine cameo. I assume was to have the background color contrast with the carving, which is lighter. It actually seems to do the trick and you cannot tell unless you look on the back. The brooch measures 1 3/4” tall and 1 1/2” wide. Please refer to photos for details and condition.
