the lights are in a dot like configuration inside (which once again won't show up on pictures!!)
the on-off switch is on the bottom - the switch on top controls the light setting
THIS MUST BE PLUGGED IN TO WORK!! Plugs into either your computer or phone charger ...and it takes a minute for it to start working so NO it is not broken :)
