Decoration under the glaze is acid resistant and permanent. Also genuine hand engraving.
Beautiful Johnson bros "Indian tree" China set plus 2 extra little dishes. I'm not familiar with what the names are to the two dishes in the front one looks like for pouring cream and the other looks like sugar. Those two are extras. There is a total of 16 dishes total of the johnson bros collection. 4 bowls, 6 small tea plates, 5 dinner plates, and 1 tea cup. There are many with small chips on the backs of the plates but none that badly affect the integrity of the set. There is one that has a strange x pattern, looks like a crack, but it doesn't leak. And a different one has some strange yellow staining to it. Other than that these are in Good condition and a very beautiful set that would look wonderful in anyone's home.
