This pair, named Helen, Flameborne, carries the charred imprint of a 19th-century engraving, 'The Abduction of Helen', crafted in 1892 by Rudolf von Deutsch for a lost Iliad edition. Revived from the 'Wonders: Images of the Ancient World' archive, the art depicts not abduction, but surrender to fate.
