Cigar Box Diorama Art woman sweeping fireplace at Christmas. RARE Circa 1937!.
ONE OF A KIND ITEM!
First, this is a cigar box that was made in Dallastown, Pa. The box has the tax stamp still on it which dates the box to 1937.
The diorama inside is impossible for me to date. It looks like it would be from the 1930s or 1940s. It appears to be an amish woman sweeping neat a Christmas tree on a table. There is a fireplace with 2 chairs in front of it and the family cat is keeping warm in front of the fire.
I dont come across many cigar boxes this old, let qlone with handmade art inside. The latch still works to keep it safe, and everything it still glued down and stable. DONT MISS OUT ON THIS ITEM!!
