Handmade basket with vintage button and rug thread. Artist created, original design. Made with antique Civil War-Era bone (bovine) underwear buttons.
This item was stitched with one continuous length of cotton thread, and buttons are threaded in rather than sewn on. Hundreds of yards of fiber and thousand upon thousands of stitches.
Artist has shown at the Chicago Children’s Museum, the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, and at the annual Creekside Artists Show and Sale as well as the National Basketmakers Conference.
